Ever see Shell's V Power for sale anywhere? Or any other oil company additive?

You both would be safe using Texaco fuel as well. Texaco is owned by Chevron and uses the same Techron additive in the same quantities. Chevron created the very first Top Tier gasoline’s as well.

Not this one, but I filled up my 4-cylinder Fiat 125 (designed for 96 octanes) with 100 octanes in Yugoslavia. That cheap engine was climbing steep, curvy mountain road at 1200 rpm and no knocking (no sensor).

didnt mean to resurrect this thread, but I've been looking at chevron alternatives, and I noticed you mentioned that website as did a lot of other people, without investigating who actually owns it..

How can a bottling company know anything about fuel ? It is obviously a FAKE site.

I use nothing but Chevron premium in my vehicles and never pay for injector cleaning. Plus it leaves an audit trail of when/where I purchased 100% of my gas via Chevron credit card records (just in case).

Chevron bought Texaco a little over eight years ago...they are one in the same company. They both include Techron in all three grades of their gasolines.

More here. And here.

Top tier? I think Kwik Trip has terrible gas. I own 8 cars and none of them run well on Kwik Trips fuel. BP and Shell always seem to run best in my vehicles.

I have used Techron to keep the injectors clean, so Chevron is fine. The fact that the same truck delivers gas to Chevron and Texaco should be no surprise but, can I keep trusting the man who wears the Star? What would Bob Hope have said about this? Probably: "-Is the Pope Polish?", unaware that things changed since he left us.

Ha! Good one! That I know what you're talking about and that you said it kind of shows our age.

Around here Kwik Trip is considered crap gas (no pun intended). Shell has always been my first choice, followed by BP & Exxon/Mobil.
