Quick Window Tint Question

Ive had my window tint on for quite some time now. I was wondering if im allowed to use 'suction cups' on it? For instance, the type radar detectors and tomtom's use. Will it damage the tint?

The manufacturers instructions for cleaning window tint (film) is quite specific about using only soapy water and a soft cloth. I imagine anything else would act as an abrasive and score the film, as would suction cups in my opinion.

Are you referring to aftermarket or OEM tint. If you are in the US, most if not all states don't allow aftermarket tint on the front windshields except for the 3-4" band on the top. Most GPS units are suction cupped to the front windshield so this shouldn't be a problem. As for cleaning, almost any glass cleaner will work for OEM tint. You need a very mild, non abrasive cleaner for aftermarket.

I agree that suction cups would probably damage aftermarket film-type tint.
