The diesel Mercedes caught my attention when I was in high school in the early seventies. It didn't take me but 3 decades to get one and I have to admit it is everything I thought it would be. Beautiful car, great ride, fit and finish second to none.

That's because if the words "dual mass" are in the description, it going to fail. And what was the original reason for dropping the engine? Oh yeah, that's right. An oil leak. The one that started two months after the last time it was put back in.

But, they are addicting. Like a sportbike (an 80's sportbike) with four wheels.

damn ...that sounds expensive everytime you have a problem.

Not everytime, and it is easy to drop the engine. I used to drop them in about two hours, and many people can work faster. It's just compared to my Mercedes, my Porsche was a lot of work.
