Exclamation Parts Supplier

Hello all, I recently purchased a set of front brake rotors from the Adsit Company 800-521-7656. I used their order number, their ordering system, and recieved my rotors in just a few days. When I went to install the parts they did not fit. I then called Adsit and explained the situation and they blamed me for ordering the incorrect parts going as far as telling me that my car was not the correct number or year for a 230sl. According to my factory build card and number search, it is indeed a 230sl. Instead they claimed that I had ordered rotors for a 250/280sl in error and informed me that there would be no refund. I then advertised the parts and sold them at a loss to a 280sl owner and found out today that the rotors do not fit his car either. Since the 250/280sl use the same rotor I have come to the conclusion that the rotors are incorrect for any 230/250/280sl application. I called Adsit this morning and was hung up on twice. The company refuses to believe that they have made an error of any kind either in their catalog or in packaging. I am not asking anyone not to buy from Adsit, but I am posting this as a warning to those that may purchase parts from them in the future.

Thanks for the warning, others hopefully will take heed.

Just curious, did you pay with a credit card? If so contact your credit card company, there are some rules about this but they may be able to credit you and reverse the charge if it hasn't been too long since the transaction.

Good luck!
Greg

If possible try this, do you know the manufacture of the rotors and the manufacturer's part number (maybe on the box)? Then check with them and see what car it is for, then write letter to Adsit with the info.

this company has been around since the 1980s and there are hundreds of horror stories about them. Only 2 things can be done, either sue them or make sure we post things like these on all relative threads to starve this guy and hit him where it hurts. You are proposing that he write a letter to a bunch of BAST--DS who hang up the phone on him?

I am going to replace my rotors for a 190E 2.6, so for the hell of it I checked the prices at Adsit and they have them listed for $178.20, I am assuming for two, believe me, unless they are cross-drilled or slotted (which would make them cheap at $89.10 each), they are way over priced. Other on-line shops the OEM types (none crossed-drill or slotted) are around $50.00 or less each.

They have been doing shady business practices for decades now. Their prices suck. I don't see how these guys are still in business. I personally know of several people that got burned by these assho--s!
