In the old days (my '87 300E) people ran these cars to 200-300K with few problems. My E was every bit as reliable as a Honda or Toyota.
These days, the smart money leases them and unloads them before the warranty is up.
MB resale has gone the way of their reliability, way down. They can be had for cheap. Reliability did not stop me from buying, I don't worry about reliability. I got my S430 with 73K for good money, could have done better.
With 120K, low ball the price, way low. The engine will last if it has been maintained. It must have meticulous records. Plan on ball joints, wheel bearings, water pump, alternator some time in the next 10K if not already done. There are a host of electrical things that may or may not go out. By getting it for $6,500 you'll have cash on hand to service and repair.
