remove the driver underdash panel and it should be up to the right in the heater housing.

Dang, just put it back on after replacing the cabin filter. Are you sure? One of the guys said it was behind the passenger footwell along the firewall but all I see there are the wheel sensors. WIS was no help either. I'll check.

pull the driver side underdash panel and look up to the right, it will be sticking out of the heater housing. not the passenger side, the driver side.

Ok I pulled it but I just don't have a clue what I'm looking for. Heater? We are talking about the sensor related to a/c right?

Sorry to be a PITA but it's like 100 degrees out and humid as hell and I'm having a hell of a time locating this thing. On top of that, my damn kid lost the cable for my camera so I can't even post a pic. Harumpppf!

that isnt what you asked for. your thread title says evaporator temp sensor, not ambient temp sensor. if you are looking for the ambient temp sensor, it should be located at the front of the car connected to the grill. not sure on the older CLK though.

I've confused myself. This is the evaporator sensor that senses outside air temp.It is most likely located on or near the evaporator, hence the name. Thanks anyway.

The grill sensor only relates to the dashboard readout and does not submit data to the climate control computer.

These are all distinct parts:

1). Inside ambient temperature sensor
2). Outside ambient temperature sensor
3). Evaporator temperature sensor

Are you looking for #2 or #3?
