That's nice. I don't like front plates, totally ruins the look of the car! The ML has a front plate holder too. I want to take it out, but having the holes there would annoy me more than the holder.

Plus, if I get too close to something and 'tap' it, if it's not too hard, the holder will take the scratches.

MM, Looks good with the black plate. I like it simple and clean.
Hey McBear,

As I recall, you only saw my beast from the back. I think the alien is a vehicle partially obscured by some background vegitation.

A couple of good points here AML. I would also hate the holes being there - heck, I even dislike the looks of those sensors the Parktronic option makes on these bumpers.

thanks, sure free lesson I sometimes do (photoshop) before I do some mods just to see what it looks like first before- it saves me time & money.

I like the black plate with the MB star and can't imagine it without the star. I don't have a front plate on my car, just a gray thing to place it on top but it still looks okay. I have a nice back plate holder on the back that is silver and says Mercedes Benz is script writing. I wouldn't mind a black with star on the front for my car

I don't think I have seen one at my dealers. Where did you find it? I almost bought the all silver with MB star in the middle but they were all out of them. They cost about $50 or more out here.

Thanks and hi again Debbi!

That plate and frame (plus several other choices) are available from your preferred MB dealer (might be special order) and from the MBUSA Collections catalog. I paid $44.00 for the plate and $34.00 for the frame, both from dealers, and both were retail price.

The Mercedes-Benz in script print is another option. I happen to like the block print better, at least for the front plate I bought.

Here's an idea: Buy a plain frame of your choice for your rear license plate (there's enough stuff on the state plates as it is), and use the frame you already have with an MB plate to match on the front.

"Look at me! I own a MERCEDES BENZ"

You could ask this 2500 times and get 2500 different answers, here is mine.

I like the black background with just the star on it, for your car. I suppose if it were legal, I would also contemplate having the holder removed, as many of the cars look much nicer without any plate on them at all in the front (Audi, Chrysler, etc.)

Having the star and "Mercedes Benz" on the custom plate is to me, redundant.

But, if it was a 1992-1995 E500/500E, then having one with the star and the lettering "PORSCHE" might work on a car like that!!! That'd be amusing but truthful, and would elicit knowing smiles or bafflement. You either get that one or you don't

I have no choice. In this state as in many, the front plate is required, though the law is frequently ignored. to go without is a ticketable offense

I have it mounted and with the MB dealer plate on it, in my car. It is the normal and original look

Personally, I think that it's a fine line there, and that you shouldn't be too self conscious about it, and be advertising to everyone that you own a Mercedes, by festooning it with decals, badges and custom frames or plates screaming that you do.

MM, would this be a replacement for the euro-plate? If so, I prefer the euro, but both look good.

BTW, did someone in No-Cal say Porsche?

Marcus, here is the "euro-plate" I had before. I looked around for a copy of the ones used in Germany but never found one I liked very well. I think this is a horrible combination due to the rectangular mounting plate.

Cascade, several good points there. I liked Joe's photoshop enhancement and the redundancy thought of yours well enough that I'll eventually buy a plain frame (or go without frame) and find another use for the one I have on there now.
