Fuel Gage Issues

I Have A 1989 560sel That Has A Fuel Gage Problem. I Have Already Changed The Feul Sending Unit/pump. The Problem Still Persists. What Happens Is That The Gage Works Fine Until The Level Reaches The Reserve Area. When In Reserve The Gage Will Read From 1/4 To 1/2 Intermitantly.anyu Will Help Will Be Appreciated

If it isn't the sending unit, I'd suspect the gauge is faulty.

Hi, i bought this C200, W202, 1998 model last week and found out to have this erratic fuel gauge malfunction. But there is more to come to my surprise that seems strange? When i fill the tank because i ran out, it only takes half the tank ?
no matter how i manipulate the petrol hose nozzle, it just wont take it ?
I'm lost, how could an empty tank only allows to be half-filled ? Any suggestions
will be appreciated pls.

Also, how could i reach the fuel sender unit to check for this model ? do i have
to remove the tank or there is access somewhere? I checked the back seat
for any sign of fuel sender connection but nothing is there ?

many thanks for your help,
