Question Help with repairs

Hey guys I am new to this form as well, but have few questions as new recent Benz owner. First question, I had a bumper accident which tore off right side of the rear bumper cover, not completely but the right side just hangs. How much would I be looking at cost wise to repair / replace a rear bumper cover for my 1996 Mercedes C220. Would you recommend going to the dealership or taking to my own mechanic? There seem to be no quotes online as to where to purchase rear bumper or where to look for it so that I can compare prices. (Do you know of any good cheep online stores that you have used to purchase auto parts ?)

Secondly just last few days the "check engine" light has been on, so I was wondering what are the possible causes of this and what is the list of items (most common to less common) to check for to diagnose the problem.

Thank you very much everyone,

Andrei

For the bumper, I would look around on eBay Motors. The Check Engine Light can be caused by too many things to list here. One thing you can do is to go to an auto parts store and ask them to hook you up to a code reader - that way you can ask about the specific error codes and post those on the appropriate forum. Your car is a W202 and there is a special place for those, and your, car.

Also, it would help if you told us where you are.

So your rear bumper face bar should be part no A2028801171 and the rail A2028850121.
