Help me Please

Please help me anyone who knows how to deal with my Mercedez C180 Sport, automatic, petrol, 4 doors, 1997. It drinks petrol as a result of delay in changing gears. Once i start it and go, it would not shift into another gear until i push the accelerator down. It stays in high gear. Some times the gear liver will not stay in P mood and missplaced during parking and sometimes while the car stand still in P mood, the gear liver does not stay in that slot but will missplace into another slot. I mean instead of R mood it stays in N mood for reverse and so on.

Please help me whats wrong with my car? I have recently changed gearbox oil and thought it may sort this out but it still exist.

Cheers.

I think you may need your shift lever bushings replaced, as well as possibly adjust your shift cable.
