The recommendations for the 123's are correct - they are the only "bullet proof" and reasonably fast cars MB ever built. We've had our 300SD and 300CD since new - 23 to 25 years and no major system failures and I do most of the work on them. change the oil every 3,000 miles and adjust the valves ever 12,000 and they will just keep on running. There are a few 123's on this site that have over 500,0000 miles on them - one guy had 940,000 and was going to give the car to his grandson to keep on driving.
