My 92' 400SE W140 makes a squeaking noise when i increase the RPM. It makes the noise in park, drive, reverse and neutral, it starts at around 1000RPM and gets louder as it increases to about 5,000RPM. When i rev the engine high after 5k the squeaking goes away, but then starts again at normal RPM. After doing research i found out it can be due to numerous problems...starting from the least of my worries:
- The drive belt needs adjusting...might be loose..
- The squeaking is from the low level of power steering fluid?
- The power steering pump is bad?
P.s...the noise isnt only there when i turn the steering.
If anyone has had this problem or might be able to suggest what the problem might be i would appreciate a response Thank you.
