Marcus, thankyou, that was the gem I was looking for!
I had a similar problem to Kajtek first time I towed with my car. I had previously drained and refilled the trans sump and had inadvertantly over filled the box by about 1/2 litre. As soon as the trans got hot, it pushed it out of the vent and all over the exhaust and underside of the car and over the front of the caravan.
Gentlemen thank you for your invaluable help, hope I can do the same for others in future.
