I don't know about your state, but in California, the insurer HAS to pay for an inspection. In "my" estimation, it's time to call an attorney and a new insurance carrier. Your relationship with State Farm is about to take a serious turn for the worse, or you're about to get screwed. It doesn't sound like there's any middle ground. Also, I wouldn't give the new carrier any information about your current problem. Being chatty will only increase the rate. The new attorney will get the inspection done, the car restored to pre-accident condition (or bought by the insurer for fair market value), your $1000 in rental car fees (Don't you have rental coverage? Rental coverage costs me $20+ per year), and if you keep the car, a diminished value fee.

Yes, it's going to cost you. However, it'll probably be less painful than the alternative.

Yeah, i told them that you need to get me an inspection done to make sure my car is back to preloss condition. She said that we dont do inspections on cars after an accdient. And you would have to pay for it if nothing is wrong with your car. If there is we'll get it fixed. So now i dont have teh right to know if my car is safe to drive? i hate statefarm.

Sounds like they're messing with you. Just make the call. Jackie will straighten them out. It worked for Cosmo.

Haha, the guy Marcus showed you is an actor who played a shyster lawyer in some movie. The only Cosmo I remember is Cosmo Kramer on the Jerry Seinfeld show.

Now back to your problem: There you were, sitting at a stoplight, and some A-hole hits you in the rear. You both have State Farm insurance so that sounds like it will be a simple solution. Now you still have a wrecked car, out a lot of money for rentals, and you still have a wrecked car. No matter how good a job you get, you will always know it is a wrecked car that will always be worth less (as a consequence of that) to anyone you end up selling it to.

If I were you, by now I would be mad enough to chew nails. Please keep us posted, and I certainly agree that a bent frame is a definite safety issue.

From the TV show Seinfeld. There was a lawyer named Jackie Chiles who Kramer hired in a number of episodes. Kramer's first name was Cosmo. Jackie would come up with some iron clad case that would get Kramer a ka-zillion dollars, only to have Kramer find some way to lose the case or settle before getting the money.

One of Jackie's famous lines was "I AM OUTRAGED!"

Jackie would devour State Farm
