CLK 430 CD Player

Hi guys i got a 2000 CLK 430 Convertible, and i try to play CDs i bought from the store and only some of them play, and sometimes they dont. Same goes when i try my burned CDs. I get Error, or i get lucky and it plays the disc. I've heard it's because it's not MP3 Compatible, but yet than why at times it does play the CD? Can someone tell me what's going on, and if i can get it to just play the CDs all the time lol thanks

This is going to sound like a cheap explanation on how to fix the problem, but just get a new CD changer, that's what I did. 109 shipped from ebay, I got lucky.

Either that or you need to clean the thing, mine plays burned CDs no problem.

Question CD player or CD changer

It might help if you told us which player is acting up, the one in the dash, or the changer? In other words, your problem resides either in your head unit, in the (presumably) trunk-mounted changer, or somewhere in the inter-connections.

Mine didn't come with a changer and I bought a used one on eBay also. I had a problem and that was because the tech who installed mine did not go through the necessary steps to integrate it with the car's fiberoptic loop (D2B).

Good Luck!
