btw, any views about the pre-1998 models having better mechanicals?

I was also told by another MB owner that the 1995 E model was a very desirable car to own!

It is. A 94 is virtually the same car as a 95 in both the 320 and 420. But somehow the 95 E320 managed to do one mpg better on the EPA test than the 94. There's also the theory that last year of a model run has the best potential for future value.

That’s a hornet's nest. Some will claim the older cars had more style, more cachet, fewer electronic issues, were generally more dependable, and made with better materials. Those people tend to own older models. Some will claim the newer cars are considerably more powerful, have better fuel economy, require less maintenance, have better brakes, better suspensions, and have more features. Those people tend to own newer vehicles.

The truth is, it really doesn’t matter which year you own. As long as you’re happy, that’s all that matters. Your 1995 is probably a wonderful car. If you really want to experience it, join the Mercedes-Benz Club of America

I would like recommendations for a knowledgable and reliable MB mechanic in the Montclair, New Jersay area (northern Jersey). I just purchased a 94 e 320 wagon with low mileage, and want to keep it in terrific shape.

MarcusF, I should have mentioned that I live in Australia so perhaps there wouldn't be much point in joining the MB Club of America. But thanks for the suggestion.

Regards

ggkend, I'm new here so don't know the etiquette, but suggest you might get a fuller response to your question if you were to start a new thread?

Regards
