Either it's due for a service or someone forgot to reset the service indicator. 9000 miles? It's due either way.

FYI, Service A or B is DIY job you don't have to go to the stealership. Check & read your manual for your Service A needs. Btw, welcome to the Board Alex!

Take care & enjoy the ride,

The service is due. You can check with the dealer when was the last time the car had service and verify the mileage recorded. If so, have the car serviced and the MB tech might adjust the service intervals mileage depending in the mileage due.

The car is either badly overdue for at least a oil and filter change, or it was serviced at a non MB facility and the technician did not know how to reset it. It is a countdown timer based on time , miles, and oil properties. I would only use MB filters and synthetic oil, I only let my MB dealer change the oil, since I have an extended warranty. There are some MB dealers wont reset the timer if you dont opt for the A or B "inspect" etc. The instructions are in the manual.
I had a major issue with them this week trying to sell service which they or I did recently like (plugs caps and rotors 10,000 miles agofrom them, and air filters I did less than 90 days ago)
Definately a sore subject, replace if bad, dont try and jack up the bill.

My guess is that whoever did the previous service didn't reset the FSS. The Service A and B you can do by yourself at home.

2008 Toyota Camry Hybrid
