Heat Resistant Glass (windscreen)

Does anyone know which recent models are able to have heat resistant windscreen glass fitted?
I have a 2006 C350, and live in a hot climate - South Australia. I am very happy with my C350, but the inside of the car gets very hot in summer.
According to my dealer's techies, it is not an option for the W203, as it interferes with the rain sensor. But then it is an option for the S Class, and I am sure they would have rain sensors.....
Any advice or information would be appreciated.

I don't have the W203 options list at the moment but at least the W211 has this option of heat resistant glasses. The rear and rear side window curtains might also be useful (also available for W211, not necessarily for the W203).

The W221 certainly has a rain sensor. This infrared shielding is simply not applied to that part of the windshield, as well as the area for the night view camera (all W221 cars with the night view option have an infrared shielded windshield even if IR shielding on the other glasses is an option for the smaller engine models). Rain sensor has nothing to do with the availability of this option.

Thanks DB,
I thought the same but I wasn't going to 'argue' the point with the local service experts.
The infrared shielding is not a formal option for the W203 in Australia, and my investigations on the 'net show that it is not an option in, say, South Africa or Saudi Arabia, places where there is plenty of heat and sun shine.
I was hoping that someone with access to MB parts lists might be able to find if it was an option some where sometime for a W203.
Thanks again

You can have a look at the EPC yourself here, a different C-class but this part listed "HEAT-INSULATING GLASS BLUE, FOR RAIN SENSOR ":
Ê*ò*ëîã

I did not find a C350, perhaps that is a newer model than detali covers.

Attached a list for a C55AMG. Almost identical to that of a C350. The normal option seems to be heat absorbing but there is also one heat insulating glass. Not sure if it is what you are after.

Hi Diesel Benz,
thanks very much for this information. It was exactly what I was looking for!
I can now approach the service department and metaphorically beat them over the head to see if they are available in Australia for a common or garden C class. (not that a C350 is exactly common...)

Hi guys,

I know this is years old, but I'm looking for a heat rejecting windscreen for my 2003 w203 c220cdi Elegance with rain sensor.

Anyone know what part number I can quote?

Thanks.
