Question Question on relay for Mercedes 1982 500 SEC

I just bought a 1982 500 SEC. There is a problem with the control unit (relay). Are the relays in america work the same as the relays in Europe? I have a feeling that this is not the original relay for this car. The part number is 002 545 07 32. Do you have any recomendations on what different relays will work in the car. My search on the internet has left me with very little answers. Thank you.

Some people have used 002 545 33 32, that's the US unit.

The U.S. and Euro units are different. We keep the Euro version in stock, which is what you currently have in your vehicle: Mercedes Parts, Mercedes Benz Parts, Accessories. Note that 00 545 07 32 supersedes to 002 545 40 32. BTW, welcome to BenzWorld!

Hi,
I'm from the 107 forum. Sorry to dig up an old thread. Could anyone confirm that they have got 002 545 33 32 to work in a Euro car? According to the EPC it's only for NA/Japan Models, but could this be wrong?

Would be interested to hear if anyone has tried? The 33 32 unit looks identical to the 40 32 unit that I have, but is a LOT easier to find.

Also did 40 32 replace 07 32 or was it the other way around? If so do you have a VDO number for the 07 32 unit?

Cheers.
