I don't plan to have the engine washed, and from the top it is very clean now (detalied before I bought it and only 7500 miles ago). The guy did say they will remove the under-engine panel to see if there is evidence of a leak, and that it is part of the consumption test. If it is slow and non-critical the choice is mine if I have it fixed or live with it, adding oil as necessary.
I think the 2 oils changes (1 before and 1 after the test) will cost about $125 each, plus if engine is faulty it is documentation of that. I am willing to pay $250 for the peace of mind.
If you think the $250 is going to be a waste, I would appreciate your opinion.
