I try to be more polite when I expect help from forum members. The request to me was too ambiguous for a first post, real experts would turn away even if they knew the answer.

I just want to defend the expertise of the forum members, let's say I may or may not know how to install DAS on a standard XP machine but I at least have seen how it has to be done. "Nobody knows" is not the right conclusion then, at least I know a few who definitely can do it.

This question as a first post makes me assume we are talking about an illegal copy of DAS. Those who have paid 20k+ dollars may not be that willing to help one who does not contribute to the service, making it cheaper for those who pay.

I understand that the HW support and warranty is not that ideal, if the original DAS computer gets broken, one certainly would be tempted to install the system on a commercial laptop instead of buying a new SDS machine from MB. Ensuring others this is the case, perhaps someone who already has gone through the same pain would be willing to help, but one would need to ask help politely.

There are a few, who have the system installed on a laptop (windows xp), but are too obtuse, to use it properly.
Hypothetically, I might be speaking about myself.

1. Me it does not seem of to have been discourteous with nobody and of to have made questions ambiguous...

2. Then we say that... or they do not know it or me they do not want to say... even if I do not see the reason...

3. The credibility of a person depends on the number of post? However all the version of the DAS that I have and relative machine SDS are originate them very and paid...

4. He is exactly therefore... me does not seem of to have been discourteous... but if I have given this impression I make excuses myself...they are nervous why these days I cannot work and I have economic problems for this reason... would serve me a fast and real aid...

We make peace?

Official Announcement:

A lot kindly someone can help me to install DAS originates them on Windows XP, would make an enormous favor me, thanks in advance for the availability and aid...

Help

Maybe someone will explain why this DAS is in some manner operating system dependant? Surely XP has been out long enough that it will readily run the program. In case it is not obvious, I'm pretty dense when it comes to IT

DAS might run but it doesn't want to :-) At installation it checks if the computer setup is SDS system. I assume it is because MB wants to sell the full package with the same profit as the rest of the system, meaning quite an expensive computer. Another reason could be that they want to keep the computer "clean" from any other SW. This would help all installations being equal and minimising compatibility issues. Playing a bit with registry one should be able to tell DAS that it is being installed on a genuine SDS computer.

I haven't seen early SDS computers, they were not using XP, probably a ripped version of windows (2000) to reduce memory requirements etc. etc. and then the system would not run all sorts of normal windows applications anyway.

Could be that dealers wanted it this way, otherwise repairmen might install games and play all day long :-)

Yes, for a while. Honestly I am not personally familiar with these details, only commenting based on the information I've got from my friends. I can only say that it appears more complicated after 9/06, but there is a solution.

I am sorry but I cannot ask all the necessary details from the guys who I know have the answer.
