1984 380SE Engine Seized maybe?

I returned home from a trip to the Uk after a month. My Mercedes was running great before i left. When i tried to start it. battery was very weak and barely turning over , but was turning over. I charged it to a full charge and then when turning the key , it just went to a click, I replaced the battery. Still the same. I had a shop put in a new starter. still the same. He then removed the plugs , which looked fine and tried turning the engine . it appears seized. No heat problems. recently had an oil change and the oil is very new. Its an automatic. an ideas on what to do next besides use it as an anchor

no, he tried with a socket on the front of the engine and had no luck moving it. could a bearing have slipped maybe that you can get to with the oil pan off?

This is a long shot, The technical editor of the STAR a mercedes club magazine recounted on what tey thought was a seized engine they could not get it to turn. It turned out that the alternator had locked up. I cant immagine an engine locking up when not running. I also thought it might be a locked up starter but you said it was replaced. If you had all the plugs out it cant be a Hydraulic (fluid leaking into a cylinder)
