Power Seat won't go all the way back ?!

The power seat on my C320 isn't going all the way back anymore. The seat position stops about 4 inches from it's furtherest setting and i hear a single click after it stops. All the other functions still work and it still moves forward and back to the stopping point..

I think it's because I had a luggage back there once and when I tried to move the seat back it wouldn't go back anymore and that somehow jammed the seat and computer, but I don't see how that could've jammed it, maybe it's a computer issue? I examined the gears on the bottom and nothing seems to be blocking it. I also unhooked the negative lead to the battery for a full day to try and reset something or anything and that also didn't work.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

JOE55 is probably correct, but I read about a similar problem on here and a guy answered that a click(s) meant messed-up teeth somehow in the gearing mechanism.

Good Luck!

You wouldn't be the first one with some coins jammed in the seat mechanisms

Good idea Kajtek1! Coins are constantly falling out of my side pants pocket too. Maybe I have been lucky because the driver's seat works properly for me.

Is it a sedan or a wagon? There was a thread telling that the power seat does not go fully back if the rear seat is not properly at its normal position. A switch detecting that, if the seat is properly set, the switch may be the issue.

Don't have a wagon myself and then no personal experience. Not sure if the same happens on a sedan with load-through back seats.

Might be his luck and he could find his old wad of $100s in a money clip blocking the gears.
