Satellite Radio

Does anyone here have this? Also can it be used world wide, I would assume so as it should function just like GPS. Do you have to sign up to a plan or anything like that?

Thanks guys.

In the states, the satellites are held in a geosychro orbit that has them doing figure 8's above the US. I do not believe they are available elsewhere, but you never know.

By subscription

It is usually free the first year, on a new car purchase much like Tel-AId.

I have XM and I love it...however it isn't really cheap. I think we're paying $100 a year...or month...I don't know lol

Also, if you guys didn't know, XM and Sirius are merging.

I'd happily pay $100 per year for good reception and no ads.

I've had XM since 2001 and am glad to pay the $100 a year for it. Local radio sucks.

XM cost $12.95 a month and they offer discounts on long contracts.
But both XM and Sirus run with no profit and proposed merger is kind of rescue attempt to make them profitable.
So what if you sign for 5-years contract and they go bankrupt in 4 months?

I have been a Sirius subscriber for a year and a half. If you are sick of commercials, or you drive long distances it is a must. Cross state and multistate trips without searching for a radio station is priceless. Commercial free non-stop music in whatever genre you like. Rock, pop, country, alternative, soul, classical, R&B, hip hop and even a shuffle. Some entertainment channels have commercials, but very limited. 3 comedy channels, news, talk...really unending.

Sure you can program your iPod, but there is something to the variety of someone picking a song you never thought of loading into you iPod. Well worth the $10.00 per month.
