No offense taken Corsica, it's certainly not one of my few areas of expertise. Thanks for the intelligent comments.

Can someone please give me a rundown on the DST issue please?

My clock is still 1h behind and I don't want to manually adjust the time now and have it being automatically reset to 1h ahead in 3 weeks. Do you think MB will have a software patch ready so that the dealer can download it when we go for service next time?

Based on a lot of what I've read on here, I seriously doubt it. Set your clock now, and if the improbable happens with MB, set it an hour backwards!

MBUSA Response

I wanted to post this separately because I have official MBUSA news about our car's clocks. The bad news: We will have to manually reset our clocks in March and November--forward and back, respectively. The "good news": We won't have to manually reset it four times a year as I had feared we might, due to the fact our cars were already programmed to automatically reset for DST twice per year, in April and October. But to avoid having to reset our clocks four times/year, we will have to turn off the DST setting on our COMAND unites. Check your manuals for how to do that. It is not too difficult. The MBUSA guy talked me through it and it only took a few seconds. MBUSA said it would be too difficult/expensive to provide us w/ a firmware patch to do all of this automatically. He said they would have to remove the units from the car in order to do that and it ain't gonna happen!

Hope this helps...

Thanks for the post. In other words, you (and MBUSA) are saying that our clocks in fact are going to jump ahead another hour the 1st weekend in April?

Maybe my COMAND is defective, but I distinctly remember having to set it back 1 hour last October when DST reverted to EST on the old schedule. LMAO, it was such a hassle, I'll never forget that. For whatever reason, it was much easier this time.

Perhaps you do not have "DST" checked in your SYS COMAND, in which case you would have had to manually adjust last October. This would also mean that your system will not automatically jump ahead in April. But in either event, I would check your COMAND to see if "DST" is or is not checked. If it is, you will need to uncheck it to avoid the auto-jump next month. Good luck! This whole DST thing is a real pain. I just wish there were something we could do to return the "favor" to Congress!

MBUSA sent most of us 3 different sets of instructions.

1)Setting the clock using the multifunction steering wheel — vehicles without COMAND

2)Setting the clock using the COMAND controls

3)Setting the clock for vehicles without COMAND and without GPS
