Ok, heres what I use and why:
MB tranny fluid, because its been formulated for the MB tranny and I dont like paying $5K for a rebuilt one just to save a few $, yes there are those on this forum who have used Dex III in their 722.6, but i wouldnt even think about it.
MB antifreeze, because it is formulated for an aluminum silicate block and plastic radiators, ie it has different anti-corrision properties and a different PH level, U can also use Zerez G-05 as it is the same formula.
MB Oil Filter, I use the Fleece filter exclusively, why try to save here when you are getting 10K between oil changes, severe engine damage resulted in the late 90's due to the FSS system calling for an oil change after 10K and customers were using regular paper filters and regular oil.
I use Mobil 1 0-40 european formula because it meets the specs exactly, again getting 10K between oil changes.
I use the regular Bosch Plat single electrode, in some models you can use the +4's and in some you cant due to feedback issues.
And CHANGE the tranny fluid hot and often, I will repeat that 100 times if you like
as the tranny wears (U have an abrasive disk and metal disk that get slammed together at high speed when it shifts) the particles dont all get trapped in the filter they circulate throughout the tranny causing additional wear, and the fluid breaks down over time, how much time? who knows.
