How much could I get for a 1998 C280 Sport edition?

I am trying to sell it, It was my fathers and now mine. but I am not sure what they run at for prices now. He owed just 5gs on it so I would like it to be more so I can get the title to sell it. I want to sell it because I have another car and I have not drove it at all after my Father recently passed. (Too painful to drive it, plus, I like my car way better and it is faster... )

They were going for 18 grand when he bought in like 2005. It is in pretty good condition and had recently new pads and front rotors, New FR Wheel bearing, MAP sensor replaced. Will pass inspection. It has 20% tint in the rear and nothing on the side because it was removed and most the lastest Mainteince has been done on it... Besides an a Syn oil change. He put Regular oil in it for a few months.

Only cons are...

it has a slight fender bender that makes the hood a bit harder to open. It just needs to be popped out or replaced. You can't really see the bend until you look real close from an angle next to the sports emblem. Wiper Motor was replaced 4 times and the cap was not put on correctly and is not there. And the blower motor was replaced... Man... I have to say this thing had some issues but no issues at all now....

O And it is Red, Auto and has 96k miles on it and always had Prem gas put in...

What do you think I could get for it?

If the car is in very good shape, $$8-10,000 [NADA Retail - Midwest] would not be unreasonable. 98 had Imperial Red which is not as popular as Magma Red the next year and if you have not painted the darker trim pieces [body moldings and cladding] to body color, I would suggest doing so as it will more than make up the difference in "eye appeal". The darker Red that they put with Imperial Red does NOT make a good selling combo.

Also, make sure the car has the correct Sport Wheels. Those lightweight wheels make a difference for those who know the car and they also look very good.

Post up pictures and start a conversation in the 202 Forum. That is were the interest is. Those are VERY nice cars when done right.

Being smart is knowing the difference, in a sticky situation between a well delivered anecdote and a well delivered antidote - bear.

Funny thing is.. I would probably keep the car if it was a 5 speed. Too bad... haha. I just think it is too slow vs. Mine. The Tiptronic just not help and make the car get out of its way.
