Wheel Size for new S Class

Am about to purchase a new 2007 S320cdi and was wondering if anyone could recommend which wheel size 17, 18, or 19 inches (I have deisregarded the 20 inchers) offers the best overall compromise between ride quality and handling. Many thanks.

From what I've read I think you will be very happy w/ the 19" wheels. I believe they come "stock" w/ the Sport and AMG models. Post some pics when you get it...

Don't believe everything you think

I don't think it is possible to answer this question because you do not mention the weight on ride quality versus handling. It would be impossible even if you said 50/50. Of course also depends on the road quality one would mostly drive on.

I would honestly say that the original 17 inch wheels are the best compromise for ride quality and handling. The looks is less perfect with 17" wheels.

If it is not important to make the car look good, I would stay with the 17" wheels. 18" should not make a big difference on driving comfort, 19" might be tolerable but clearly having emphasis on the looks of the car.

This is of course a very personal issue, US-owners would probably say 19" is the minimum (don't remember if smaller wheels were even available there). Test drive would help a lot when deciding.
