Hi, I'm new to this forum, and I am posting because I'm doing a newspaper article about cars with very high odometer readings. If you don't mind being interviewed, let me know
I've got a 500sel with over 400k. I got it that way in the summer and am going to be keeping the motor and parting out the rest. I checked the vin and it's not the correct motor. The car runs wonderfully but looks rather seedy.
Drop me a line if you want pictures. The car has less than two weeks to live.
You do know that 400,000 miles on a rotary is equal to 800,000 piston miles, right? I'm member of the Motor Press Guild, so if I can be of help shoot me a PM - and yes, that odometer was for that car.
Or if you'd like to, the Greek Mercedes taxi driver that had 2.8M miles...
Thats the Greek taxi driver with 4,2 M km .
Mercedes gave him a new car for the old one.
2 times he changed his engine, and 11 times rectified the engine.
