My old cars, I didn't care where I parked. I always park far away in the E. The three times I've picked up damage (yes, three) in two years was in that situation.

MM, that is indeed my car.

And Animals, you have an excellent eye. She is lowered (front only to give a bit of rake, there's a couple other pics are in the 210 gallery) and the wheels are from an 05 E500 wagon (purchased them from Renntech, they were takeoffs from their own wagon so they could hot it up with their own).

Sorry to hear about this, that's a beautiful car to have been damaged. Sad thing is, whoever did it may have been so stupid that they didn't even realize what they did. This is why, in parking garages, I park next to a pillar. That's one less place I can get hit. I hope the body shop makes it look good as new.

I am sorry. Feel your pain

Unfortunately, that kind of thing is not unsurprising if you are parking on the San Francisco streets (where you are regarded as some "rich A$$hole with a Mercedes)

I lived there for about 22 years, and this happened to me, more than once.
Came out one morning and the Volvo had ben sidewiped horribly, all down the car. No note, nothing.

And I can't begin to recount the time I got hit in SF by redlight runners, rearended and broadsided by uninsured drivers, for self defense I had to buy big safe cars, like Volvo Mercedes Cadillac Olds 88 Ford Crown Vic.

If you are having insurance pay for the damage, here is a wonderful body shop in your area

Euro Design.
1188 San Mateo Ave
San Bruno
(650) 588-1440

Rich Martinez - owner.

They handle the REALLY high end cars, the BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, etc. whose owners demand, and get, the best job.

The last time I was in there they had a brand new AMG S class in there that needed repaint. EVERY SINGLE PANEL on the car (which was so new it still had temporary paper plates on it had been viciously scratched apparently by an outraged spouse. That must have been SOME story!!

Hey, Cascade.

Thanks for the thoughts and the tip. Unfortunately my deductible is pretty high and I don't want to see a rate increase, so I'm on my own for this one. Hopefully PDR will take care of the metal, but it's pretty ugly closer to the front of the damage area. If not, I may be looking at a conventional body shop and a dramatic price increase.

I was just up in your neck of the woods a couple of weeks ago; very nice area you chose. Enjoyed the Empire Mine State Park, too.

Thanks again,
Greg
