Peugeot's version of the CLS?

Is Peugeot coming out with their version of the CLS-wannabe as well as everyone else (Porsche, Aston Martin, BMW)? I guess this means that Merc had a real hit with the CLS.

Might just be the angle, but that looks wicked.

Peugeot makes wicked looking concepts. But their cars just suck.

Also, that thing has...and you will read correctly.....a transversely mounted V12 diesel in the rear...

I have only seen one peugeot in 20 years in the US. The one I remember from when I lived in South Africa did not resemble anything so sporty looking.

Too bad. I was commenting on the looks, not the engine layout.

Gorgeous concept car! Too bad their quality isn't very good...but then again, neither has MB's since they stopped handmaking the W126's. I have read that the head honcho for MB has finally owned up to this though (not that this helps current owners from 92-06), and that they traced most of the problems to outsourcing parts, and he now vows to stop doing this and take greater control of the quality of these outsourced parts...we'll see...

I used to own Peugeot 504 in California in 80's. 2l Diesel wasn't the most powerful, but with extra tank gave me 1200 miles range. The car had electric windows, brake pads sensors and comfortable interior.
Again we are talking late 70's, early 80's model.
I swapped engines in one car from the other. Pushing single handed one car under garden hoist, removing the engine, pushing other car, pulling the engine out, putting the first engine in and driving out done in 4 hr with hand tools and cable hoist.

Looking at the testing that the new C-class undertook, seems like MB already started to improve the quality of their product - New Mercedes C Class: The Testing.
