prices for extra years on CPO warranty?

Just wondering some prices people have paid to add years to the certified pre-owned warranty. The dealer I'm talking to is quoting $2395 for one year and $3995 for two. Is it a set price at all MB dealers or what? I seem to recall hearing someone say they bought one year for $1995 on an E55 which is what I'd be buying it for. 2004, 17k miles currently CPO'd, just want another year.

Never miss a chance to keep your mouth shut.

Just went through the same decision making process with our SL. I believe there are 2 or 3 levels of pricing depending on the vehicle. The SL is in the same category as your car. The price is what you quoted. Two years would be about 4k with the mileage capped at 100k. With our SL, I decided to go for the 2 year addition. The way I figure it, if I have even 1 warranty repair in the last year, it would have paid for itself. Just personal preference.

I paid $3K for an additional 3 years (naturally to 100K miles). When I bought my car, my dealer had a same year CLK55. If I remember correctly, the dealer wanted $1K more for like coverage on the 55.

One thing to remember, everything is negotiable. My F&I guy started off at $3500, but I knew someone who paid $3K for his, so I wasn't going to pay more.

Also, some dealers will pay for your first year in MBCA if you ask. If you do your own maintenance, you'll get a discount on parts. If you let the dealer do the service, you'll get a discount as well.

Lastly, when they present the VMI, and the transmission service isn't listed, I'd ask for one. If nothing else, they should do it for parts only.

Congrats in advance on the beast.

I bought a CPO 2001 E320 last June that had 52,000 on it. I was quoted $1845 to extend the 12 months to 24 and I agreed to it. At that time, I didn't know it might be negotiable.

Like dragoncoach said, there are different prices depending on the vehicle. I didn't realize we could extend those to 36 months. I thought the F&I guy told me those are now limited to 24 total, but he might have been referring to extending the new car warranties (we were talking about both).

I'm not really sure if this is correct. If I remember correctly, MB CPO extended warranties are only offered at the time of purchase. I would think they are negotiable but couldn't get them to budge on the price.

The F&I guy at my dealer stated that as well.

The prices vary, as to when it is purchased, first year vs last year, it also varies with the class of car. When I got mine a few years ago you had the option of basic or deluxe and could add 4 year 50. I paid 2700 for an E class plus tax. The extension is written with MB so any discount comes out of their comission, it can be transferred only to another private purchaser.
