most effective & easiest way to wash undercarriage?

the 4 suspension areas and the wheel wells, i can somewhat clean them with a brush & running water. but how do i get all the sand & crap off the undercarriage?? do drive-through car-washes effectively clean the undercarriage?

High-pressure - I'd call you an enthusiast-extraordinaire if you cleaned the undercarriage with a brush. Why bother?

Hopefully. you have a proverbial 25 cent car wash that you could can pull in & high pressure spray your underside & wheel wells periodically during winter thaws & in springtime. Don't forget your mastic covered spring perches...
