94 500 SL power top cylinder leaks

Could anyone tell me the procedure for removing power top cylinders so I can get them rebuilt. Replaced 1 at great expense, only to have more starting to leak. Need to know how to remove panels etc. Thankyou

You need to scroll on down the the R129 Chassis board. This is a topic that is discussed to the nth degree. Actually their is a thread going maybe one or two pages back with a link to a DIY I posted on how to r/r them with pic's

Some do, some don't, some will, some won't, but I might!

I contacted fellow member Dennis Ficken. Dennis can tell you how, why and where to start dismantling your rear compartment area to get at the cylinders.
When you don't know what you're doing, it seems somewhat scary. I can tell you from experience it is not. Just go slow and to know how it all came apart, take photos before dismantling at every phase if you are unsure.
Dennis rebuilt 4 of my cylinders and they work great. His email address is, mercedescylinders@sbcglobal.net
You will find this forum to be a great asset with all the knowledgeable members who have been down the same road before. Welcome to the forum.
