rotors ?

Hi ! I have a 1995 320E it only has 35,000 miles.
I replaced the brake pads a year and a half ago and my indicator light came on last week- I thought , again ? well, i guess city driving can do it ? LA . But the guy at the shop said at 35k I need new rotors , how can he determine this w/o checking ? Does this seem right ? Also why would he need to replace sensors if they are clearly working ? is there a step here I don't get or is he trying to take advantage of my lack of knowledge ? This isn't the place I normally go to .
Thanks !

It's time for new rotors.

The sensor drags on the rotor when the pads wear down (that's how it grounds to lite the lite), and the sensor is damaged by this. It's a one-time use item, and is always replaced when pads are replaced.

Sensors are less than $10 and rotors no more than $50.

Yup, pads, rotors, sensors -- that's the ticket.
