Medical grade microscopes? That's a really good reason to get Osram bulbs. They don't just trust any bulb when it comes to the medical field.

Yeah AsianML, that's why I mentioned it here. For example, pathologists are looking at possibly diseased tissue samples, and that color better be right or the surgeon might remove something better left in your body!

I have installed silverstars in 3 vehicles

1st (2 H4's) were still fine after almost 3 yrs, sold car, never burned out even though the lenses were busted out by vandals.

2nd(2 H6054's) have been in for almost 2 yrs and still run fine, no burnouts here either.

3rd (4 H7's & 2 H1's) have been in for 8 months and no problems so far.

So I havent had any problems with silverstars burning out.

one of the important things to remember when changing bulbs, dont touch the glass with your fingers, as dirt or oil can cause the glass bulb to crack when it gets hot, which causes the bulb to burnout, the sealed beams dont have that problem, but im sure everyone knows that ;-)

Sylvania Silverstars

PTM, You are absolutly correct when you say NOT to touch the bulb with your fingers. I repeat ...avoid touching the glass on the new halogen bulb with your fingers. The natural oils from your skin will create a hot spot on the bulb and will shorten the life of the bulb and could, potentially, cause the bulb to explode when it is on. JW
