Might take a little agressive detective work...
Were there books and records with the car, or did they get "lost" or "misplaced" during the process from the lease return/auction sale/independent dealer sale to you? Is there at least, a decal or license plate frame of the MB dealer on the car so you can identify and contact them? If you get the VMI for the car from ANY MB dealer, then you'll know the name of the dealer that delivered the car new, and you can go from there.
If the maintenance booklet is with the car, look in it and contact the dealer who stamped the booklet, and ask them for copies of the service records. Be polite and agressive, it just might work, (and give you peace of mind). I've been lucky, even if I had to go several hunded miles out of the way to see the dealer, or in other cases, requested the information from a Texas Volvo dealer, with a $20 bill inside for ("postage and handling")- that one got me EVERYThing, from PDI inspection sheet up to the last service, it was highly satisfying.
