Hi and welcome, which models do you specialize in? Diesel, gasser, new ones needing the OBD II diagnosis, old ones like the W115 and w108, or youngtimers like the 123, 107, 124 and 126?

Have you seen any of the W210s with the spring perch failure problem? Do you hate working on the W140 and W220?

Question? Receiving tire pressure monitor warnings on my 2002 S500. The car sat up for about 15 days and drained the battery. Bought new battery, it was time. Now receiving all these warning codes. Took to dealer, fixed most of the codes but now tells me the EIS Module is out and won't let him trouble shoot the tire pressure monitor. Any thoughts?

Rear diff leak of ML 430

Hi,

Welcome !

The rear differential on my ML 430 (2001) is starting to leak ( very minor leak I suppose ). I am planing to check the fluid level soon, but Is this possible and if so, has anyone repaired this type of leak succesfully?

There should be a vent tube / breather or similar, but where I can find it ?

Thanks a lot for any help

It's GREAT to have you on the forum SG, and thanks in advance.

It shouldn't take you long to "surf" around on the various threads here, and you should see a LOT of problems for which you can offer advice.

Good luck with finding some service customers too,

M

I work with everything diesel or gas. mainly the newer models, 220, 203, 209, 211, 163, 164, 251. have some experience with 208 and 210. 220 isnt bad, they seem to have too many problems with the TPC.

never resealed the diff on a ml, but there should be a plug on the diff that if you remove you can stick your finger in and check the level. the level should be at the bottom of the fill hole. And yes these leaks are repaired all the time. they will usually drop the diff and reseal the cover if thats whats leaking. usually at the same time they will replace the side seals.

Unfortunately, I don't know what codes are being thrown out by TPC. I gave the go ahead to replace the EIS Module, which I've been told would allow the dealer to further trouble shoot the TPC. Just trying to confirm if this all makes sense.

My 2002 S500 only has 33k miles, so I'm a bit surprise at this battery drain and TPC problem.
