I belong and will probably renew. Membership is cheap, and it does offer a number of discounts on things. They have an annual raffle and give away a new SL, plus two or three smaller cash awards equal to the price of various MB models. The magazine is okay, but no great shakes. The regions are all different and mine sucks, but I can live w/ that. Their website is boring, but not much worse than the national MBCA website. Very little activity and much less-informed members than you find here or on other big MB sites.

Don't believe everything you think

I have a friend who is a member. Ill say one thing, the star magazine alone is probably worth the price of membership.

For those of you in sections that are not as active as you like or that don't have the tech sessions you like, volunteer!!! Everyone there is a volunteer and from what I've seen, most sections would love to have someone step up and plan and organize an event. The section can send out a postcard advertising your event or put it n their newsletter. If only half a dozen people show up, so what!! At least you've gotten the event that you wanted.

MBCA has a pretty good forum too - linked through the website.

You will NEVER be the oldest person in the club.

You will VERY SELDOM discuss technical aspects of automobiles.

You will NEVER do anything but eat.

OTOH, it's a good magazine and your dealer my give you a discount. The club may have some "political" influence with MBCA regarding service issues.

EXCELLENT SUMMARY! Last but not least MBUSA ran a loyalty promotion for club members this years and you could get up to $2,000 cash back through the club promotion for buying or leasing a new MB. I got a 06 R350 (already $10K off) and just received my $2,000 check in the mail.
