Find out what situation fits you.
If you are a
wealthy, or fairly comfortable person, a busy professional that earns a good salary, are very busy, depend on the car daily, drive long distances, and can't afford the downtime that comes with repairing an older car, and feel the car can no longer be trusted to be dependable, then it's time to unload the car, and move on to another.
But if that isn't you, consider that new cars are extremely expensive, interest on
a new car loan, the Mercedes W124 is a very safe, long lived, stylish, well built, durable, well engineered car that is a pleasure to drive, and it could be worth the inconvenience and expense to fix, and then go and do it.
I would think your situation would dictate what you should do, in a situation where you have an older higher mileage luxury car demanding more and more repairs.
