2004 ml500 screeching brakes

4 weeks ago i purchased a pre-owned 2004 ml500, and withing the 1st week, the brakes started to squeak. called dealer and left numerous messages. 3 weeks later spoke w/ service manager who told me the problem would go away on its own. now brakes screeching very loudly each time i brake. can't get dealership to look at vehicle, and don't know what to do? Mercedes Canada told me just a reoccurring problem with ml500, problem can't be fixed. help.

Is this happening just after running off or also during normal driving, even if the brakes have been used and warmed up? The calibers are moving freely?

For the W211 at least there is a service bulletin. I did this myself, applied some copper grease behind the pads and on the metal guides. I believe some models have updates on the parts between the brake cylinder and pads that attenuate squeak.

the screeching is happening during normal driving at all times, without cessation. and it has worsened over the last 3 weeks. still trying to get dealership to "check out" problem, but that isn't happening either. don't know anything about cars, but do appreciate your feedback and help. the vehicle was 5-star certified 4 weeks ago, and i assumed that everything was updated then? thanks.

Mercedes have always has issues with noisy brakes. Inspect the pads and rotors -- if they're worn, replace them. If not, remove the pads and meticulously clean the back surface of the pads and the corresponding part of the calipers.
