Exclamation Next best luxury car

1. Lexus
2. Acura
3. Infinity
4. Audi
5. Volvo

My numbers are arbitrary, except that I'd definitely place Lexus as the #2 behind Mercedes - of course I'm prejudiced there.

The main reason I'm choosing Lexus is due to my experience with a 1991 Toyota Camry. This car is still solid, and dependable, after 16 years and 96,000 miles. My father was told when he bought it, that it and the '91 Lexus-whatever shared a lot of the same components. We did not have a local Lexus dealer back then, and the only old one I have ever seen was styled a lot like mine, so I am inclined to believe that.

There are a lot of other cars worth owning, but you asked about "luxury car" and I think these all qualify. As much as I'd like to say "buy german", in reality, the Japanese top-end models are all pretty darn good, and are arguably superior. BMWs are of questionably quality, and Porsche and Volkswagen do not make what I would call a luxury model. With that said, have you ever seen a VW Phaeton?

p.s. Buy a new C-class or a CPO E-class next time around

Yes, Ford still owns Jaguar, and I agree 100% that most of them resemble Ford Taurus and the also defunct(?) Mercury Sable.

That's exactly what I did for $24,900 + $1,845 when I bought my 2001 last June. A 2004 is next on the list as soon as I can afford it.

exactly my choice! Nimble, rough, and loads of POWER! Four door two seater.
My brother had a 1987 Integrale 16V in the late eighties early nineties and that car was a blast to drive. Especially for this kid that just got his license for a couple years
My other choice would be this one. Simple, reliable, 4WD and it goes on forever!

hey thanks for numbering them for me. is that your opinion or is that from like consumer reports? I think I'm going to stick with Acura since I've already had 2 before my benz. I've test driven the TSX, I love the MDX but my dad has that so I'll probably end up with a TL or TSX. TL probably better?
I do like the Audi A4's though, I saw one today and it looked pretty cute, I'm just not familiar with the integrity & all that.

THAT BEING SAID....

i'm gonna throw something out there that surprisingly NO ONE has mentioned.....INFINITY ~ G35....it comes in either RWD or AWD....coupe OR sedan....and even ROAD & TRACK, CAR & DRIVER, MOTOR TREND all agree....it's an un-paralleled VALUE FOR THE MONEY....GREAT CAR & CHEAPER than the majority of the vehicles in the same class...
Maybe the 2007 G35 is better but the earlier models weren't anywhere as nice. Then again, I drove a FX, M and G while I was at the dealer.

The M35x is a great car. Hate the FX, looks nice but the curvy hood threw me off while I was driving.

So... Infiniti? M35x (awd version)

A week later, I tested this C32... and the rest is history.

chill_babe, what about nice little suv types like the Acura RDX or BMW X3? Especially considering you live in colder weather.
