Help required please

Hi
Just bought a CL420 1997 and the battery has gone flat. Only have one key - is there anywhere under the bonnet that we can charge the battery as it is in the boot and we can't get to it as the central locking has died!!

If it's anything like a CLK, there should be a black box on the passenger side(US.) near the windshield(screen). Lift the cover and there will be + and - posts to at least jump start the car.

Thanks - we've just found a handle under the back seat that releases the boot (trunk) so we can now charge the battery. Phew. Thanks a lot. Does anyone know if only having one key is going to cause any more problems? How do we get another key (I think it's the mechanical key??). Thanks all......

You can get another key from the dealer. You will need the vin # . Bring your checkbook

I think the more important question you should be pondering is why the battery discharged in the first place.

Oh, and welcome to the forum, btw.

thanks for your help - much appreciated. Car has been sat on a dealers forecourt for a while and needed to be jump started to drive it home. Have been cleaning it since with interior light on and radio on so I think that is why the battery has discharged.
Thanks again - look forward to learning more on this forum!
