Diagnostic Testing..but I didn't give my consent?

I took my benz to a mercedes dealer to see what they could cover under warranty since it's almost expired. I was complaining about the SRS light coming on whenever I'd hit a bump. So all I did was just TALK to the service tech about what would/wouldn't be covered under warranty. That's when they suggested doing a diagnostic test to see what was really wrong with it. Anyway, I NEVER signed anything, nor did I even see my car move to the tech garage. My back was turned to my car, like I was in the office discussing the warranty etc. Well the tech wrote me up a contract IF I was going to get work done, BUT I refused because I didn't want to pay all this money, not knowing if anything was going to be paid under warranty. SO I walked out without signing anything, & drove away.
Today, the dealership where I bought the car (Acura) called me a bill they received from the Benz dealer I went to. He told me it was $114, but since they couldn't cover the expense, they told me I can get a free detail job worth $299.

Anyway, long story short...since I didn't consent the test to be done by not signing my name on anything, does that give them the right to charge me if it was really done?
I called the benz dealer back and the tech said it was in the computer system that it was done & they found the airbag isn't going to work properly
Well what the h*ll did they honestly have the right to do that?

If I understand what happened:

1) You bought a Mercedes-Benz at an Acura dealership.

2) At some point after you bought the car (you are the legal owner), "you" took "your" car to a Mercedes-Benz dealer to make an inquiry regarding maintenance that you may decide to have done.

3) You decided not to have the work done by the Mercedes-Benz dealer, so you left.

If that's what happened, then you don't "owe" anyone anything. You especially don't owe the Acura dealership. If Acura paid Mercedes-Benz, that's Acura's problem.

Lastly, post the year of your C230 and I'll post whether there's a recall campiagn for the airbag. Even if there isn't a recall, it's hard to imagine that Mercedes-Benz wouldn't fix an airbag on a car under warrantee..
