Reliability is fine. Visit the W126 forum for more info.

24,000 miles in 16 years?
That must be from rolling it out of garage on Sundays for washing and pushing it back?
On the serious note that low mileage might be a bad thing. Corrosion, deteriorated rubbers and plastic.
Take it for really long test drive before considering.
Good luck and welcome to the forum.

I agree with Kajtek1 here. Low mileage is a plus BUT the car is still 16 years old, and the plastic and rubber parts of the best cars are subjected to oxidation by the elements. However, maybe you'll find out that the car was kept in a vacuum, thereby protecting it against the oxygen in our atmosphere

Being serious too, my dealer's service guys were talking about an old SL380 that had been siting around too much. Just looking at it, the seats looked good, the paint, etc, but it would not start so the owner had it in there. They ended up having to replace the entire fuel system from the tank forward because of corrosion or rust.

Good luck!
