the chrysler JOKE 1.5 BILLION LOSS

okay the higher ups at mercedes are either blind or too stubbon to see the obvious....

CHRYSLER reported a 1.5 BILLION LOSS....

while MERCEDES reports reports a 1.5 BILLION PROFIT...

so what reason did Chrysler give ? ....GAS PRICES.. WHAT B-S

Every hear of th GL/ ML/ G -class or the E55 AMG these cars barely 12 MPG !! AND YET

MERCEDES STILL MADE 1.5 BILLION profit... can you imagine that an entire year of PRODUCTION, SELLING, WORK by mercedes and in the end it was for nothing but unsold cars sitting in a parking lot somewhere in detriot.
Yea , the higher ups keep pouring billions of dollars, sharing mercedes technology, chassis and parts AND Chyrslers are STILL are not selling...

Chrylser had an 82 day supply of unsold cars in its dealer network. WHICH AMOUNTS TO A
2.5 BILLION WORTH OF CARS not sold yet!! WHICH AUTOMAKER makes that MUch IN ADVANCE NOT KNOwing THE DEMAND WASN"T THERE , NOW THERE ARE 100,000 cars just sitting there in Detroit ?? HONDa, Toyots builds cars upon getting the demand, and to the customers wishes..

do you know how much 1.5 billion is ? its equivelent to teh R&D Costs for the e-class for 6 years !

If they hadn't already charged R&D to the bottom line, perhaps there would have been a profit.

Yes but did you notice that loss was not for a year but for one quarter of the year!!!! The New York Times article is worth reading. Seems there is a real possibility that Mercedes may seek to sell Chrysler. What a cock up!

I like chrysler cars, as far as american cars go... not that I would ever buy one. But I would personally love to see MBZ sell it off. Mercedes has historically too good of a reputation and pristige to have such a leech on it's books.

This is the kind of stuff I have harped on since the "merger", and I have been cut down by MB enthusiasts left and right.

Zetsche the miracle worker. Ask Dr. Z, what's going on?

For my part, it's been quite nice to see these American badged cars on New Zealand roads - for the first time in many years - and yes they are RHD as well!.

Yes, lots of Chryslers in Stuttgart last summer, too.

More than W124s, in fact.

The 300C seems to be doing ok in the UK, but the rest of the range are percieved as budget rubbish I think. The Dodge Calibre has just been launched to terrible reviews from all the UK car mags.

Daimler had to have had a valid reason for buying Chrysler. This issue is all over these forums, and I don't think anyone here knows what M-B was thinking. If they finally determine that it was a bad decision, I hope they get out without taking a financial bath from which they cannot recover.

For my part, I think the german engineering has made a positive impact on what were, pretty lackluster autos before the "merger". I happen to own a (pre-MB) 1994 Plymouth Acclaim that has been a pretty good car overall. If I ever replace my Acclaim (wih another american car), I am going to take a serious look at the Dodges and Chryslers before any other brands.
