Exclamation Looking for a little more hp

Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum and to being an owner of a Mercedes. I now own a 1989 MERCEDES-BENZ 300 SE W126 which I inherited from my dad. He had driven it 17 years and put only 134K miles. Since owning it I've replaced the spark plugs with new Boche platinums and the air filter with a K&N air filter. The next natural step, I'd guess, would be to try some simple engine modifications that would help the engine breath even better. Would this be possible? If so what changes could I make? Any welp would be great.
Thanks!

I'd start with the exhaust.

Please don't butcher this car. Get some real AMG or Lorinser stuff and by all means don't pimp it or install those ugly nasty looking and sounding cans in the rear that some ricers call exhaust.

Oh, don't put in there the platinum plugs, you will end up with problems.

Step 1: Unscrew the gas cap.
Step 2: Drive a new SLR Mclaren under the cap.
Step 3. Screw gas cap back on.

LOL.
Sorry, I know that wasn't helpful at all. Just couldn't resist. Good luck with your upgrades.

Don't try to add HP to a 300SE! It is not a race car. It is a great cruiser. You will enjoy it especially on the highways.
