The idea of the smart key is that one cannot get the engine running without the correct key. I guess you do not want to leave the key in place and have a remote starting device turning the key (not a good idea on a KG car at least).
My main point of replying though was to mention that in my home country it is illegal to let the engine run on idle for more than 2 minutes (in traffic or not). Except if the temperature is, I think, below -15 degrees Celsius, then max 4 minutes. This is for the environment, to reduce pollution. The popularity of remote starting devices in the US and Canada is not seen too well, especially after suing car manufacturers about environmental issues.
