An oil change at the dealeship runs me between $100 to $130 depending on whch mercedes model is being done. I am only assuming it will a similar price for you. My cars have proven to be pretty durable. I know a lot of people who have had problems with newer mercedes, but I have not had anything occur that was out of ordinary maintence or something that I expected. For the M class for example:
Still do oil changes every 3000 miles. I know a lot will feel that is too often, but I would rather spend my money on oil than an engine rebuild. Those run about $70 at a local oil change place. I am going to start doing them myself again so I can lower that price a bit. Figure on 4 oil changes a year: $280
Have to change the tie rods right now: $150
O2 sensors $400 (to be changed soon)
Transfer case, rear diff, front diff fluid change....maybe $80
That is about all I have done in the last year. Keep in mine these were all things I did myself so no labor charges and the oxygen sensors and t case/diff's are things you do not do every year.
For the w126:
In maintenance, about 3 oil changes a year at $50 each. That is about it. I need to remove the drive shaft and check some things. So at the most I will have $500 if I have to replace that. After 200,000 miles I am not shocked at a repair like that. I had the brakes done. Just did not have time with work to change out all of the brakes-$300 maybe. And that is about it for the last 12 months for that car.
It comes down to this. If you do the maintenance, MB last well. They are pricey and if something major does go bad, it can be very expensive.
I cannot comment about the model you are looking at, but I hope this helped. Maybe you want to check with the forum specific to your model.
