Extended Warranty

I bought the 100,000 mi extended warranty directly from Mercedes Benz. ( almost $3000) It generally has done a good job of covering major issues however, it seems that a lot is left up to interpretatation. For example; the warranty says wiring is covered. There was a short in my rear window defroster. The dealer claims it isn't covered and wanted $90 to repair it. My sunroof wind delector came loose because the springs broke. The dealer said the sun roof, if broken, would be covered, not the deflector. They could fix that for $300. In both cases the dealer says it's Mercedes that won't approve the repair. I tried contacting Mercedes directly and coudn't get anywhere. They climed the dealer has all of the authority. I've bought two new cars from this dealer, however the dealership was just sold to Sonic (?) automotive and they seem less interested in customer service. Any ideas or comments on what to do next. Thanks.

Have you tried contacting another dealership. In this area, the dealership in Grand Blanc is far less accomadating than the one in Okemos. Just call the around and see that they say.

If you read the warranty, it covers almost all items. I discussed the warranty with my dealer, it covers motors and wiring, but I was surprized that the self dimming mirror, nor the radio or the CD is covered after the 4 year, 50 runs out!
They did do the mirror under good will, and usually are easy to deal with!
